Once upon a time….

The world of children's and teen fantasy literature is more than just magic mirrors, princesses, and dragons. It is a rich collection of language, empowerment, otherworlds, borderlands, adventure, danger, love, culture — and of course, magic.

Though it came from a long and distinguished tradition and had been popular before, fantasy was brought into the forefront of youth literature with the development of Harry Potter mania (!), causing people to scramble for more books, authors, and read-alikes to their favourite fantasy titles.

This site attempts to explore and connect fantasy literature for ages 10-18+ through the authors, books, stories, characters, and attributes that make up this genre.
Please take a few minutes to contribute to the forums or to add comments on any individual title page.

If you want a great guide on fantasy for children and teens, see Fantasy Literature for Children and Young Adults: a comprehensive guide, by Ruth Nadelman Lynn (check at your local library — they probably have it there).
