Lives in Utah with her husband and five children.
Is named after her Danish grandmother. "Mette" is short for "Margaret," which means "pearl" in Greek.

While writing The Princess and the Hound, she reread Pride & Prejudice, Jane Eyre, The Blue Sword, and other favourites to help her with the writing of a romance.
