Description

Fantasy folklore, dream warnings, the return of imaginary friends, school bullies, and family issues all work seamlessly together to create a story that seems quite plausible. …Are you sure you've never seen a faery…?

Summary

Imogene is tough and rebellious and punky; Maxine is strait-shooting and rule-abiding and introverted. But they become fast friends when Imogene's family moves to Newford. When trouble comes to Imogene in the forms of the school ghost, a school gang, the school house faeries, and the soul eaters. Imogene quickly realizes that the seemingly impossible is real — especially after her imaginary friend from her childhood manifests. High school is dangerous, and if Imogene and Maxine want to survive, Imogene is going to have to use all kinds of skills she learned from the streets.

Characters

Imogene — troublemaker determined to go straight
Maxine — straight-A, straight-laced
Pelly — Imogene's imaginary friend who manifests
Adrian — the ghost of a student who died after falling off a roof some years earlier

Reviews

For those of you who dig the urban fantasies like Tithe or ElseWhere, for those of you who enjoy a good friendship story like Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants or Define Normal, or for those of you who just like a good read (and I won't even begin to list titles for that), this is a great book for you. I definitely recommend this one! - esme
